AI4N is a subgroup formed from the Nuclear Institute’s Digital Special Interest Group (DIGSIG). The DIGSIG was set up in 2016 following two workshops led by Innovate UK KTN focused on the role of building information modelling (BIM) in the nuclear sector. DIGSIG has subsequently grown to over 450 members drawn from across the industry and the supply chain. DIGSIG members believe that increased digitalisation has the potential to transform the nuclear sector, driving down costs of both new nuclear builds and decommissioning projects. DIGSIG has established a number of cross sector collaborations including the UK BIM Alliance, Construction Industry Council and Major Projects Association.
